Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

So where do you get your small pleasures from when things are tough?

Whenever I have free time (not often) I like to read. I also like to have a look around the shops, try new clothes/shoes on and sometimes buy new things too. I then get pleasure from wearing those new things. I also take great pleasure in being able to eat in peace (only happens when ds is at school) and I look forward to my daily bath.

In our busy lives, what do you find gives you pleasure?

watching telly with my husband, having a fag and then eating Marks and spencers cheese straws or sherbert lemons.

Oh yes singing always helps.
BTW I actually spend more on mushrooms because they are easier to peel with bitten nails than the basic button-ish ones.

tclanger, yes I know the prob with sherbert lemons - roof of the mouth is where it gets me. I have had to put them in a different room from where I watch telly, or else I eat whole pack. Laziness of having to get up and get rest of pack just about wins over greediness!

Walking the dog
A quiet corner of a cafe with a big boat of cappucino and the newspaper.
An episode of the West Wing ( not sure why but hey)

I'd really like to get into gardening but so far its just a fantasy. Our garden is small but borders and lots of pots but so far, I haven't a clue! I've been watching Chelsea Flower Show on tape so it will probably wear off soon! I'm not one much for music... I like it but I'd much rather listen to Radio 4 especially Count Arthur Strong which is hilarious.

Sometimes I get a craving to revert to student days and spend an afternoon with a good book in a pub, drinking real ale and smoking, maybe pulling a 20yr old maths geek. Ah great days.

Shells · 01/06/2008 21:48

Oh yes, West Wing for me too pagwatch. And I'm doing re-runs of Six Feet Under. Love it.
20 year old maths geek. No!

Cleaning the inside of my car?!! Order from chaos! Sitting in the garden at dusk listening to the birds and the silence.

TotalChaos · 02/06/2008 09:34

Problem with the West Wing is they all seem fundamentally so NICE for politicians - give me the Sopranos any day

LMAsMummy · 02/06/2008 11:50

Sitting in the garden and hoping for SILENCE!! Coffee/wine/olives/Walkers crisps optional and varying according to mood.
Watching Casanova on DVD, or generally most things featuring David Tennant or Alan Rickman.
Have started Body Balance at local centre, really nice and not expensive.

Ooh dreamt I snogged Dr Who last night, woweeee! Waking was such a disappointment I could barely speak to DH.

allytjd · 02/06/2008 16:00

I forgot to mention squeezing DH's blackheads, not so relaxing for him though!
