Any experience of getting funding for a SN trike?

dd is 2 and has spastic diplegia, she is getting increasingly upset when dd1(3) is on her trike and wants to have a go but can't keep her feet on the peddles and can't sit safely without a harness. I've seen the trikes on the Quest88 website but at £800ish we would definatively need to source some funding. Does anyone have experience or any ideas on this front? thanks.

Very different, but we got some equipment funded by Social Services - do you have a Disability Team Social Worker? Cos ours sorted ours.

I think you can also approach local Lions and Rotary Clubs, Cerebra offer grants (not sure exactly what for, ie check if they cover trikes) and I have heard the Beckham Charity can be very helpful.
Haven't gone down this route yet, but will do in the future I am sure, good luck.

Have you applied to the Family Fund?

Rotary clubs. I know a few members of rotary clubs and they always have trouble distributing funds apparenty.

There's also the Beckhams children's charity.

Hi, dd's physio is currently trying to get funding for a trike for dd from the Beckham's charity. She said that this is the type of thing that the Beckhams like to help out with.

She also told us that someone would come round to assess what type of trike dd would need first, and that this assessor might bring some for dd to try. That could take a while to organise, so maybe in the Summer holidays.

I've also been looking at some second hand trikes on Ebay, as they are usually in good condition and are less in price than when new.

you would be looking at something like a pickle and they are about £350

we are just starting to fund raise for dd's 3rd trike.
first one was paid for my a pub.
second by the local breakfast club and a rotary club.
This time we have our fingers crossed on a bikes club.

Thanks for the info and ideas - I've also had an email today from Quest88 and they recommend this charity for funding: www.caudwellcharitabletrust.com/
