The things you overhear people say about your dc when they don't realise you are listening

We took our ds to a new activity centre today, he had 1-1 for the entire time he was there. I mistakenly believed the pick-up time was 3.30pm when it was really 3pm. However, we arrived at 3.10pm (thinking we were early!). I went straight in to collect ds and ask how he'd been, etc, whilst dh stayed near the car. Once we'd driven off, dh told me that he'd overheard a young male worker shout across to a colleague, 'of all the kids' mums who you don't want to be late, it's the mum of the worst kid' - and as ds was the only child left (bar one very sedate child), he must've been the subject of the comment!! I felt and also felt a little too! I will add that this place is entirely for SN kids...

Anyone else overheard similar?!

Riven, the mind boggles, it really does! We haven't had to deal with hospitals yet because my ds is extremely robust but I do dread the time he ever requires hospital treatment...

After dyspraxic Son was involved in quarel with bf

Teacher: Would you like to discuss the autistic behaviour modification programme?

Me: he isnt autistic, he is dyspaxic

Teacher (to another teacher) Doesnt she know we have dealt with dyspraxic children before?

Me: You have ???????????

oh that reminded me - when seeing an obstetric consultant prior to dd2's birth - she made a comment about something in my notes and then said to me......

How do you know she has down syndrome ( as she points to dd1).

Gobsmacked - I just pointed at her. THen when I recovered the composure said well the blood karotyping was a bit of a give away!

For crying out loud - thank goodness she was not delivering no2!!

It's bizarre isn't it, that so many of you get the 'how do you know...' question! Do you think they get a lot of mums trying to fake these conditions? Or do they have some fantasy about uncovering a huge misdiagnosis (and thus restoring the NT child to you that never was??? )
Re the OP, as the staff member in question was young, I would mention it to his superiors - it could highlight some hole in his training he has slipped through.
