my ds is 4.5 and has been diagnosed with ADHD a while ago. I have eliminated all the foods that trigger his bad behaviour. i have used sticker charts which work for a while.

Really curious as to what other parents do to control their child with ADHD?

I work with a variety of children on the spectrum and I tend to Go With The Flow a lot of the time.
I do find that for some children having a routine can help - they know where they are, what they need to do, what's coming next. So one tactic is to have little routines for things - getting dressed, going to bed. Even for outings we may start with a little routine of getting shoes, coat, their latest 'thing' that has to be with them at all times, going to the car (which is whenever possible always parked in the same place, facing same direction), once in car its the sitting in the car seat with straps/belt on, child choosing particular CD (Thomas usually ).
Keeping them informed I find is useful - telling and showing them a picture of where we are going for example - if they know before hand, they tend to be cope better.
Give choices, this or that, but not lots of choices... keep it simple. They then feel they get a choice, rather than being forced to do something - but are not overwhelmed with having to make the decision (some children don't do that well, while others can cope - so adapt as necessary to suit the child).

Is there any particular thing you are finding tricky at the moment with your DS?

total defiance, i ask him not to do something and he'll go out of his way to do it.

i have tried being positive rather than negative but it doesn't seem to work. his latest one is picking up his brother (8 months) all the time, or pulling his arms and legs as he is trying to walk.
