Son with ADHD

Hello everyone!
English is not my first language but I'll try to explain as best as I can. I am really upset and honestly don't know how to cope.
My 6 years old son waiting for assessment of ADHD. I am SAHM ,struggling since he was 3 years old. My husband always blamed me that I'm too soft, don't set up boundaries, etc. I don't have family in UK. My mum is a teacher (Eastern Europe) and she constantly blamed me feeding "sugar" for his high energy levels. Despite the fact she used to be exhausted after 3 hours with him.
However, his behaviour was not picked up at nursery or Reception . Everything started in YEAR 1,when we got teacher who has very good experience with SN. He was the first person who listened my worries regarding my sons behaviour. We made a plan, spent few months with noise cancelling earphones, dividing tasks, creating "to do" boards, etc. I was so relieved that I'm not a bad mum or I'm not crazy.
The problem is that I am completely alone in this and teacher is the only person who helps me. My husband calls this assessment "a nonsense ", my mum says "your son was born healthy, you're overthinking ". I can clearly see the first signs of ADHD on my second son too (he is 2). I'm so exhausted and no one believes me.... They both run 24/7, spinning, fidgeting, there are literally not a 5 minutes silence in our house.... I love my boys, I started to read books about ADHD, bought an online course for parents ,I really want to help them. But I feel so sad and I don't have support at the family...My INLOWs are in UK, they avoiding their grandchildren as they both "exhausting "and blaming me that I learned them this kind of behaviour.

I would ignore the judgement of your DM and ILs.

Is DH willing to educate himself?

Do you have any sensory equipment or exercise equipment for DC? It would be worth reading about sensory differences.

Hopefully the school will soon start pushing for an assessment so your DH’s old mentality will be overruled

also diet is unrelated to adhd (purely brain thing ) but tbh it doesn’t help if not controlled . Certain foods just don’t help , I’ve noticed on my own adhd ds. Where possible eliminate sugar and increase the protein which is where calming neurotransmitters are made from . It won’t solve but it ll help

good luck x
