Identity card / sign / jewellery

My son has a range of special needs but if you looked at him he would appear “normal”. Unfortunately when he is scared he will lash out, run away, scream and shout etc. To a bystander this could look like a 10 year old (who is big for his age) acting aggressively. My concern is, if we were ever in a situation such as a car accident or me collapsing when out with my son, he would not respond well to those who were trying to help. Is there anything we can do which would alert emergency services / helpful members of the public that he has special needs incase I can’t speak and explain. I don’t want to put a big sign round his neck but I need some kind of identifier. Any ideas?

For the car, you can get seatbelt covers, like these.

If DS would wear it, you could look at medical alert jewellery/bands. Although the general public may not recognise what it is, professionals such as the police or HCPs should.

Some police forces do an autism alert card (like a credit card) and passport.

When my daughter got diagnosed we needed to apply for a autism alert card for those reasons, we have this on a lanyard but there are other items you can put them in
