Should i try to find a tutor?

My dc is waiting to be assessed for ADHD, ASD, dyspraxia and dysgraphia. He also suffers from anxiety. He is starting to get panic attacks about going to school and on the verge of school refusing because he feels like he's fallen behind and that he's not understanding the content of the lessons. I've spoken to senco and he's back on their radar but my dc won't speak up if he doesn't understand something because his confidence is so low and the teacher has 30 other kids to deal with too. I haven't got much money but i wondered if a private tutor once a week to support English and maths might help if i can scrape up enough money. How do i go about finding one though? Online or in person? What else can i do?

If money is tight, I wouldn’t focus on securing an EHCP. Request an EHCNA. On their website, ISPEA has a model letter you can use. Save your money in case you need to appeal and seek independent assessments.

What support is the school providing?

If you want a tutor, finding one via word of mouth can be a good idea. You would need to think whether you want an ordinary tutor or a specialist SpLD tutor. Whether online or F2F is better depends on the individual’s needs.
