CYPs workers constantly on the sick!

Dd (now 16) has been with cyps for around 3 years, her worker was constantly on the sick or just ignoring us I guess. 3 years later and we're still no closer to a diagnosis (autism) She has been seen 4 times this year. Now her worker has "left the role" so we are on the re-allocation list now.

Dd (14) has waited 2 years for an initial appointment had it 2 weeks ago, next appointment booked for tomorrow, surprise surprise this worker is now on the sick. How are kids meant to get the help they need if this happens constantly? Does anyone else have the same problems? Or are we just unlucky?

Unfortunately, staff turnover and sickness is high in many areas.

For many, diagnosis doesn’t actually lead to much or any support. For many, they are assessed, diagnosed (or not) and discharged. Most support is based on needs, not diagnosis. If you post about what support you and DDs need, someone may be able to suggest things that would help and support you can get without a diagnosis.
