Hi, have nc’ed.

Ds has damaged something of another child’s (mainstream primary). School has replaced the item.
This child is Ds’s best friend. Ds has previously hurt them, which I have apologised for, and they forgave.
The child’s parents now want to speak with me after the damaging incident.
Feeling really stressed about speaking with them and would be grateful for any advice.
All I can do is apologise. I wasn’t there when it happened and Ds isn’t even admitting that he did anything. I just don’t know how to make things better.
They are nice people but i would be v upset if I was them of course.

All advice welcome. Should I offer to try and get my child moved classes?

My child has asd and another impairment but no extra 1:1 or anything in school. His meltdowns have been getting worse at home and I do wonder if I should try again for an EHCP but prepared for a battle of course. If he had 1:1, these incidents could have stopped. Last time we were even refused an assessment for an EHCP.
:-(

Yes, request an EHCNA and appeal if refused. Also, speak to the SENCO about what support they are providing.

I wouldn’t discuss moving classes or get into a deep conversation with the parents. It is best to let the school deal with it.

Been here a few months previous. The mum made me pay 350 quid for her child's iPad which shouldn't have been in school. She flagged me of and flagged me of to my partner. I had a nervous breakdown. Anyways my dd is now on adhd meds elvanse. We paid private with adhd 360 and nhs shared care. No issues now
