Pragmatic language classes- to bother or not?

DS2 has been invited to attend 5 group pragmatic language classes by the SALT. Trouble is they are after school on a Thursday, All of my three kids are tired by the end of the week, esp DS2, and we would have a 30min drive there and back on top.
I know I will struggle with tiredness and whinging not to mention fitting in homework and violin practice etc. and a late tea. I'm sure those of you with kids on the spectrum know how much they like to get home and switch off and have tea at the same time etc.
I would love someone to tell me what the class contents are likely to be so that I can provide activities at home to cover similar ground, DS2's pragmatic language has improved in the year since he was assessed by the SALT anyway.
Will the SALTs disown me if I don't send him, the social skills class they provided was fairly useless IMHO.

I would, as a SALT.
And yes,I have to be honest and tell you that your commitment to helping your son will be questioned if you don't cvo-operate and take an interest (and of course challenge and question.)

I had a mother years ago who would bring her kid to clinic and then open a magazine as i worked with him.

Thanks Moondog,
I think I will phone DS2's SALT and ask some questions!
I was surprised to get the invite as i thought he had been signed off for the time being, also no-one is available to watch the other two on that day and the health centre is in an area devoid of interest.
Honestly I am not un-interested just harrassed.

Would a picnic in the car help? I find that is the best way to cope with afterschool appointments that we cannot avoid.

Good idea Magso.(I am the queen of car picnics (which if planned properly, give mec30 mins. to read the paper!)
