my Ds is afraid of super noodles. Its mad he was going nuts tonight while I was eating my noodles clinging to his Dad and we couldn't figure out what was freaking him out. Then everytime the noodles came into view he started all over again.

So now we have:
Showers
Baths
Fish
The Volvo ad.
Hairdryers and now noodles,

maybe he thinks you are eating worms.

misdee · 17/04/2008 22:50

dd3 is scared of plasters. she cant even look at them without crying.

ouryve · 17/04/2008 23:24

Hah!

DS2 is afraid of the Dyson when we detach the hose. He's also terrified of Razzledazzle. He shakes like a leaf if he so much as hears the music or sees a picture. I think the bit where he slides down scares the shit out of him.

aefondkiss · 17/04/2008 23:33

my ds used to run away screaming when I said I was going to hoover - this week he started "helping" me to hoover....

noodles is quite strange... Starryeyed, is he the same with spaghetti?

my ds hates baths, showers, but loves playing with water....
also hates the hairdryer, blender and hand dryers.

ds hates hoovers of any type,
hairdryers
hand dryers
showers but loves rain

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 18/04/2008 08:44

I can sort of understand the others staryeyed but noodles is strange.

dd has an aversion to newspaper. I did think it was initially just the DM but no it's all newspaper. And cardboard

ds2's is nailpolish. But only on toenails.

ALMummy · 18/04/2008 09:52

DS hates hand dryers
Showers
haircuts
Temperature being taken under the arm
Cream being put on scratches or chapped lips
Hair Dryers
The advert with the Gospel Choir all dressed in Blue satin outfits
Scared of peas, sweetcorn and carrots - literally shakes if put on his plate
Any picture or tv footage involving any type of crash even in Thomas books

I could go on.

Ouryve my Ds is afraid of Razzledazzle, Teletubbies and Fimbles as well. I think its something to do with the sparkles. He goes mad screams, runs and hides behind me but has to look.

He used to eat noodles before he went gluten free.

2shoes- I dont think Ds has enough understanding to know what a worm is

My ds can't be in the same room as shreddies with milk!

He also used to be terrified of the pink screen that came up at the end of cbeebies bedtimes with the wirly shapes on-think it's green now!

Another thing used to be the universal pictures globe with the music at start of films-he's getting used to it more now.

stonedout · 18/04/2008 13:24

no kidding, i am scared off ice, driving up hills and wait for it .... cattlegrids. Sad but true!!!

DD was scared of own shadow until last year. as you can imagine - quite difficult to do anything about it

2shoes · 18/04/2008 16:51

if dd1 sees, amongst others, dried dough, dried paint, blueberry anything, jaffa cakes she vomits.

2shoes · 18/04/2008 23:34

not really a phobia but dd gets upset by odd things. she hates it in monkey life when the monkeys get upset. in a film where a boy gets comicaly dragged to school. and the bit in daddy day care where the child screams untill he gets money. she really freaks.

flyingmum · 19/04/2008 12:07

Um
I used to be terrified of the hoover (it was the noise) I am still hypersensitive regarding loud noises.

My eldest sister is scared of broad leafed plants. Rhubarb and dock leaves send her in a tizzy ....

If your son has visual perception problems perhaps he sees the noodles as moving????

staryeyed · 19/04/2008 13:08

Good point flying mum.

Blandmum · 19/04/2008 13:22

My NT dd used to be petrified of the sequence in teletubbies when the Bins are collected! She also had a major 'thing' about the hoover.

But I can beat the 'oddest' claim with a mate of mine....he is terrified of a loo seat cover (the thing that goes over the seat IYSWIM) being left down. I once saw him in the Hall, with a mop handle trying to lift the lid while not being in the same room!

allytjd · 19/04/2008 13:27

My youngest (the NT one!) used to be petrified of sock fluff, if he spied it between someones toes or,worse still, floating in shared bathwater, he would freak until it was removed!

TotalChaos · 23/04/2008 08:42

DS is scared of our new bath. Which is a pisser on a practical level. But more amusingly, he's terrified of a humpty dumpty puppet and video that his nursery use. So they don't even bother with the puppet anymore because it upsets him so much.
