DS and DD were at the dentist the other day, he has told me to stop using the childrens toothpaste and move them onto adult one.
so i said im flippin lucky that i can get them to brush their teeth at all cos they hate the sensory side and he said well you need to put them on adult one.

so, im looking for an adult toothpaste that isnt minty (DS hates mint) and isnt strong.

anyone any ideas cos im stuck!!!!

You can get flavoured toothpaste from health food shops.

We are not supposed to use the children's toothpaste here because there is no fluroide in the water but DS has a definite preference for the mild mint ones - look for one labelled as mild mint or something like that. If you get really desperate, we get special children's toothpaste here - that has added fluoride but is not strong so I could work out how to source it for you

Ooh I'll watch this thread! Ds (asd) hates having his teeth cleaned whatever we use so I just use a normal minty one and get on with it. Dd is the awkward one as she hates anything minty and since it seems virtually impossible to find an adult toothpaste that isn't mint she is still using childrens' orange flavour. I've been telling myself it's ok because she still has a lot of milk teeth but she's 12 now and can't go on forever like this. The only thing I've found is Tom's of Maine nature's antiplaque with propolis and myrrh (got it in Tesco). The fennel one tastes like aniseed which dd will tolerate better than mint. We stopped using that because I noticed it says flouride-free formula on the back of the tube and I wasn't sure if that would be ok in the long run.
