Hello. We are in the process of obtaining a diagnosis for our son, final conclusion appointment is on Tuesday. It is likely that the report will show adhd and asd in the form of a pda.

Ehcp is also in motion through his current school but he is struggling in his current setting.

Does anyone have any experience of children in mainstream school (with or without a coin unit) in the Surrey area (ideally in the Guildford, Woking or Leatherhead area).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

With respect, this is definitely the wrong forum for this. This forum is for autistic adults to have space to talk.

You will get better responses posting on the Primary Education board, SEN board or SN Children board.

@WeirdPookah ahem, it’s also a forum for adults with ADHD and other forms of neurodiversity to have space to talk…

@WeirdPookah and @attention thank you for your comments and for directing me to the separate forum.

The top of the page shows this to be a forum for neurodiverse parenting, which in my eyes includes children. It is also on MUMSnet.com and reiterating parenting.

If I have asked a question in the wrong group, then clearly it is an oversight and your comments are unnecessary and insensitive when it is clear that I am a mother in need and trying to do the best for my child.

Maybe I suggest you take your keyboard warrier skills elsewhere.

Have a look at Burpham and Worplesdon. Both have COIN centres, the former only up to juniors, but many have a positive experience even without being part of the centres. You could also look at Guildford Grove. Some of the catholic schools can be supportive of some with SEN (although not all, so you will need to look carefully depending on how DS presents).
