I always get anxious when i take my ds shopiing because he's quite likely to have an "I want everything" meltdown in town, he did very well, to start with he put the men straight in Oxfam, he found the wrong teletubbies video in the box and told the men we went onto other shops and he was good, then when we went in another charity shop this lady kept staring and staring and made me feel so uncomfortable.. to the extent that when we left and she was near the door with her ds as the door was closing i said(even though my ds couldnt hear) "I wish that lady wouldnt stare at you" grrrrrrrrrrr!!! We nearly had meltdown in Woolworths when he was made to chose between a dvd and ds game, we got through that and i was told by a gorgeous Irish guy that my son had nice manners!! We then left there and i went to buy my Big Issue, he then took it upon himself to offer the BI man some of his pick and mix sweets! He then decided that he wanted to buy me something from the flower shop for my birthday and took my mum off there to buy something! A good day after all(so far) I just tell myself that the lady who stared doesnt know any better and i felt sorry for her..i'm sorry if thats wrong but thats how i deal with it!!

she is an ignorant and unkind Bxxxx so I think you are right to feel sorry for her and I think you dealt with it very elegantly! How nice that your DS wants to buy you flowers too!!

Happy birthday Lottie. Your son is thoughtful and kind. The starer presumably was not or was lost in her own world!
