I feel all consumed with worry for my daughters future

DD is 5 nearly 6 She was diagnosed ASD just as she turned 3

Everything feels very hard. Im desperate to help her - have tried so many things and obviously ill never stop trying
shes very frustrated and agressive

after a long battle we have won her tribunal so she will start at a specialist school in september! Im so hopeful this will help

i worry every step into the future - but lately i keep worrying what happens when she finishes school. Selfishly does this mean my career is over?

@Sleepdeprivedmamma , you are doing a wonderful job and well done for working hard for DD. Take it one day, week, or term at a time, don't think too far ahead, the whole thing is a serious journey/rollercoaster.

I have had some very dark times while figuring things out with and for my DD9 who is ASC. There are times when you think they won't manage anything in the real world, and times when they absolutely shine. I find the times when she's happiest and most herself are when she has the least demand on her, including during extended breaks from school.

I really hope SS provides the right environment and she settles. Be prepared for it to take some time, two steps forward and one back kind of thing.

Sleepdeprivedmamma my DD now 22 was diagnosed at 16. Came as a huge shock. My DD went through the whole of mainstream primary and secondary school without us having any knowledge of her having ASD. We are still learning every day what our daughters traits are. Deep breathes and take each day as it comes. Keep posting on here, it really helps to know that you are not alone
