Son is 10. Long habit of chewing everything from bedding and clothing to bits of plastic and paper.
Any thoughts on this and is it stimming?

Dc will chew when seeking sensory input mostly, but also as a stim and needs to chew/bite when cross.

Thanks, he also gets very cross and usually does this behaviour (in the vid) when playing games or watching movies.

My son is 7 with adhd, most of the time he’s hyper and on the go constantly but as soon as the chewing of bedding and clothes comes we know he’s about to have a week of being anxious ( school trips, doctors, dentist, different teacher anything out of his normal day ) will start it off and he will chew the whole week before going back to his usual self. I asked the school to remind him to not chew but they said he needs it because he’s stimming for a reason, so now we know it as a way he’s making himself feel comfortable again

Yes, so much on Xbox here too.

Does your son have ASD or ADHD?

The reason I ask is because we've not spoken to anyone about this yet but I'm coming to the point where I think I may need to as he's also hitting himself when he loses a game.

My son is adhd but we think he may have some asd aswell, we are waiting for assessment. Oh yes I know this well as soon as he starts getting louder we have to get him to change game or come off to prevent this, he may not like it but it’s the only way to calm him down
