a few of the local playgrounds in Liverpool have swings suitable for children with physical disabilities (very big chair type seats with harnesses). Not suitable though for children who need neck/head supports though, which is bad.

A playground near us has recently been given a facelift and has improved (I say improved, although they were probably non-existant before) facilities for children with disabilitys.

I haven't beem there yet, but it said in the local paper that they had put in swings as TC describes, merry-go-rounds that wheelchairs can access, speakers in the shape of flowers at each end on the playground that you can talk to each other, etc.

Now fingers crossed that A: they will improve all the playgrounds around the city and ensure they are accessable for all and B: they don't get completely trashed and vandalised to quickly (which is a distinct possibility with the mess that the local youth service is in currently).

Our new playground at school (SN) has wheelchair swing and wheelchair roundabout , so they are out there but VVV expensive

if they don't call BBC and shame them into it. We have a great all abilities playground but it is over an hour drive from us. A couple of local ones have wheelchair swings but you need keys to access it HOWEVER at least it is a start.

I imagine pictures of children with sn at the park they are unable to access which has cost the community x amount of pounds would work.

Ours doesn't even have swings- the local teenagers hung out on them too often (not that there's anywhere at all else for them to go mind you) and so the OCuncil cut them down- so any swings would be nice!
