Almost 2 and not walking - medical tests?

My DD is 22 months and still not close to walking (doesn't pull herself up or cruise). We have been seeing the physio since 19 months and she has made a little bit of progress but it's slow going, not helped by constant nursery illnesses and the resulting poor sleep.

The physio has made several sugestions to us leaving me more confused than ever. One option is to do 6 weeks of weekly physio appointments and see how she gets on (which we have agreed to), another is not get a walking frame and another is to go back to the GP for more medical tests and a referral to paediatrics (the GP who referred us to physio at 18 months didn't make any other referrals).

For other people who have had a late walker at what point did you get medical tests done and what did they involve? I'm so scared of putting her through invasive or painful tests for no reason if she's just taking her time but if there is a diagnosis of something to be gained maybe it would be helpful so we know what we're dealing with? So far she is just diagnosed with low muscle tone by the physio but nothing else.

My DD (now age 6.0) was a very late walker. We saw a private physio at 21 months. At 24 months HV referred her for NHS physio and to the NHS paediatrician. The paediatrician referred for bloods (to rule out genetic reasons) and x-rays. She also had a walking frame which was by far the biggest help (physio referred for this). If she hadn't got on with the frame she was approved for a dmo suit but didn't need this. Walked at 32 months in the end! Discharged from physio age 4. She is hypermobile.

I would request a referral to paeds now. There will be a waiting list so I think it would be good to get the ball rolling. If DD is walking by the appointment you haven’t lost anything but if you wait and later decide a referral to paeds is the way to go you still have to wait then.
