So my 4 year old daughter has stoped eating (flock of a switch) stopped! I’ve been at my wits end for 3 month over it.. she’s surviving on yogurt camhs wanted to see her right away as not eating is important (she has fear of chocking and says it’s stuck in her throat.. so she has not been diagnosed anything as only just got the forms from school, my question is would you still send off for dla now or wait.. a diagnosis could be 22month waiting
the camhs saw her quick as they don’t want her to lose any more weigh she is still okay for size and age but it’s only a newish problem

Also she has lots of other signs of adhd but that never bothered me as we have to cope with her hyper days allll day long it’s just become a problem when she stopped eating

For DLA, unless applying under the special rules, the difficulties have to have been present for 3 months and expected to last at least another 6, but a diagnosis isn’t required. I would apply now, the eating difficulties are only part of the picture if DD is showing other signs of ADHD. Have a look at Cerebra’s guide.

Apply now.

First claims take so long to get an answer and you don't need a diagnosis.

Use the guide as pp, in regards to possible adhd tell them everything, no matter how minor you think it is and your used to doing it.
