My 2.5 year old DD is on the autism pathway but no formal diagnosis yet. One of the biggest concerns is her social skills. She is completely uninterested in other children, will push them away if they come close to her, won't engage in group play at all. She goes to nursery and they comment on it often too. She's a bit better with adults but just so so unsociable with other children. It makes me so sad when other kids try to talk or play with her and she just ignores them. It makes me so worried about the future. Will she ever have friends? Was anyone else in the same position with their toddler and how did it work out?

for DD3 it’s because she had noise sensitivity so just didn’t want to play with other kids because they made unexpected noises she didn’t like.
she’s almost 4 now and whilst she will still choose to go and play alone if she feels it’s too noisy she’s also got a small group of friends who love to play with her. We found practising turn taking to be really useful which first started during speech therapy.

Following if that’s okay! Similar here, undiagnosed. But takes very little notice of children. Plays alongside and will take their toys but not playing with or even looking at them really!
