Hello! I am wondering if some other parents experienced this and have some advices. I posted it on the being a parent board but didn't get any response so I thought that I might get more responses here.
Since my child is walking (1 year old) it is very difficult to go outside with him. When he was younger he used to just run away without looking back and checking to us. This has now (25m) changed in the sense that he might hold our hand when asked and does not run away. But he will stop every few meters fascinated by some details (a flower on there street,a stone, whatever) and not move anymore. If we say to him we have to go, he will say no or just ignore us. If we say, ok than mummy and daddy will now leave and start walking, no reaction. We were out with another couple today with a child slightly older than DS. He was happily playing with the child but when we were moving on the other child would follow us while he would just not move and continue to play in the area without noticing/caring to be left alone. We tried to call him (also the other child tried it) he still didn't come. And I know us walking away wouldn't work because he might even not notice or just ignor it. What do I have to do? I mostly see children that would follow their parents (even if engrossed in an activity) beeing afraid of been left alone. He couldn't care less. It's like he is stucked in some play/thought that the surrounding is not important. He will soon move to the older group at nursery and they will not use the stroller anymore and I don't know how he could cope.
