IIRC in BSL its both hands, thumb and 1st and 2nd finger held as claw . what I'm less sure of is teh position, could be hands held up in front of shoulders- think heraldic eagle OR hands close togetherin front of chest - think bird on perch. Lip speaking Eagle at same time for clarity.
I don;t have it in my book dictonary and my CD rom one won;t work on this machine.

www.learnbsl.org/ has an online dictonary I don;t have the plug ins for.

Signstation have one too, that you have to register for.

ooops- just managed to log on to sign station. their dictonary has totally differnt sign, so I may be 15 years out of date or may have learnt a regional dialect sign ( I know I have Broad N.Yorks sign accent).
SS give thumb and 1st finger making hooked beak shape away and down from nose whilst lip speaking eagle.

Hope it helps.

Hi, thank you very much ladies.
Just collaborating with a friend doing the MSc in ABA with me.She is looking at whether use of sign can improve articulation in a youbg lad weith Autism.

She is using BPVS as a source of material.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

checked with dh later last night. he recons my 1st sign was the yorkshire for "owl" - Leeds has heraldic owls! hence my confusion. he remebered yet another sign for eagle!

CAn recomend sign station for the odd look up, think you can do 10 a day once registered- free.
