Secondary ed for ASD / ADHD in Herts (I know...)

Hi all,

We are returning to our family home in Hertfordshire after some time overseas. Having heard the horror stories about SN support in Herts (and having never achieved a diagnosis while living there despite there clearly being an issue) we have been always grateful to have got out of the whole situation.

However, we are returning, just in time for DD's GCSEs. We have no UK EHCP, obviously, although we have a diagnosis from a UK clinical psychologist (although I'm expecting that to be rejected as it is not one of their "named" ones. In my daydreams they aren't as annoying about that as we have come from overseas but I realise this is unlikely).

So, to questions - if your child is currently in mainstream, but with anxiety and in need of a reduced curriculum (maybe 5-6 GCSEs) and you lived in Hertfordshire, is there anywhere which wouldn't be completely awful to us? I can see Batchwood School in St Albans seems to have SEND support and a more considered approach - is there a reason no one recommends this online? DD is smart but needs a scribe and has crazy time blindness. Recently she had a two-lesson assessment and wrote a single paragraph in 2.5 hours. I'm almost in awe of how that is possible.
