Autism assessment appointment, will we get a diagnosis on the day?

I have received a letter for my DD5’s autism assessment. It states for 1 parent to attend and will last 1.5 hours.

Can anyone who has been through the process advise whether we will receive a diagnosis on this day or is this just the first of several appointments?

I have attached the letter for reference, thanks.

Whether you receive a diagnosis or the day or not depends on the area you are in, and sometimes differs even within an area.

I got a diagnosis on the day within 51 minutes and I queried on why it was so quick . Paed said it was because I had direct though out answers and I didn't take ages to think about responses. I said what led him to think dd was asd at 2 yrs old , he said , lack of eye contact and lack of interest in the world around her and toys and that was that.
It was heart wrenching as i wasn't expecting a dx so soon .

Like pp says, it really depends. How much input have SALT and specialist teachers etc. had? I think if SALT, for instance, has already seen dd and concur then a diagnosis here might be more likely but it really depends on dd presentation and the assessors on the day.

Ds was assessed nearly 6 years ago now but we had a 90m appointment at the cdc with developmental paed and SALT and got a diagnosis at the end of it. Ds had already seen a different SALT. We had a relative that recently had the exact same experience with their ds4.

Thanks all for your responses. DD has attended several SLT appointments this year and has had a statutory assessment completed for school, we are waiting on her proposed statement any day now. As part of the SA she had an assessment with an educational psychologist who reported multiple ASD traits in addition to concerns of a moderate learning disability. DD scored severe in the SRS-2 social questionnaire that the ed psych had us complete which would be indicative of an ASD diagnosis. I don’t have this physical report however and won’t have it until I receive my daughter’s proposed statement. Would the Ed psychs report be beneficial towards getting a diagnosis for my daughter?

Sometimes EP assessments are used as part of an ASD assessment, but not always. Don’t worry about not having the report yet.
