Revision for children with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia

My son is in top set science. Content wise that is where he needs to be, but despite being only in year 8 it's pretty intense, probably as they want to fit in 3 GCSEs starting next year. He's expected to use summary sheets to produce lots of revision flashcards and mind maps, but the result is just an unreadable mess. Has anyone got any suggestions for how to manage this? Pretty much all the recommendations for studying with Dyslexia suggest mind maps and being really visual which is great but not if you can't write or draw. Science teacher not interested. I think going down a set may be the answer but that seems such a shame when he is perfectly capable of doing the content, they just aren't making any adjustment for his SEN.

There are a few different ways of producing Mind Maps digitally. Perhaps you could sit together and research those and see if doing it they way would be helpful? He could even try it with dictation so that he doesn't have to type.

I second making them digitally. Although the school must make reasonable adjustments. Have you spoken to the SENCO?
