What happens in the annual review then?

We have one tomorrow and one at the end of the month, tomorrow's is an emergency one but I now don't know why as I thought it was about them not being able to help with ds3 and they now say they can but have called review anyway.

Is there some standard procedure or something that happens? Any info helpful as am very wary and want to be as prepared as possible.

TIA

I have no idea, but just wanted to bump it and to wish you luck for tomorrow.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but when DS3's Statement was coming up to having run for a year, he had an Annual Review - basically meeting with:
Me, Class Teacher, School SENCO, DS3's SALT and Ed Psych.
We went through the STatement and decided whether we thought it should be maintained for another year as it was or whether it needed changing. I say "we", but I think I was just there out of courtesy! Was quick and easy as all in agreement. SENCO then wrote to Children's Services with decision.

You can do a parental contribution too Peachy if its the statement review. They should tell you this in writing when they inform you of the date. Other than that ours involve his TAs, teachers, Senco and me plus sometimes the Head, his LEA rep and his EBD outreach support worker. We go through the statement and also any reports from his paed, ed psych and anyone else and then decide whether the objectives need to be changed or not. Luckily for me DS school treats me very much as part of the team. Good luck

all people (including parents) involved in the annual review are asked to produce a report and every report submitted is then copied and given out to all people involved at least 14 days before the date of the annual review.....have you not been asked for your parental comments? have you not been given any other reports to read and digest before the annual review?
i am sure this is one of the rules regarding annual reviews( but will bow down to anyone with superior knowledge/excellent googling skills)
i always go into annual review with post it notes and highlighted markings on comments that i want to raise

good luck tomorrow- it must be the time of the year for them!!

No- beena sked for nothing and given nothing, bar a bunch of verbal from SENCO anyway (who then had cheek to ask why I wasn't helping at coffee morning yesterday!! Er, coz I hate you, hate the school (am clearly being reincarnated as a 14 year old LOL) and am hugely preggers- doh)

We know what we want, we've seen a lovelys chool with a palce, current school wants toa sk for LEA funding for additional hours so he can have FT 1-1 but everyone tells us that'd be abd for his independence.

Gawd, this is going to be fun isn't it? Anyone know any quick labour induction methods for getting me out of it?
