ASD+PDA and broken bones

DD is 12 and has ASD+PDA. She also has a raging phobia of hospitals and anything medically related. She absolutely will not take medication of any sort and will not set foot in a medical establishment. Thankfully we don't often need to take her to the Doctors, and when we do our GP comes out to the car and talks through teddies.

I am pretty sure she has broken her finger, I say pretty sure as our son is currently in a splint for a broken finger for the 2nd time (completely unrelated). Its not her writing hand, but is her index finger, nothing as serious as bones poking out or deformed. Her PDA means she is point blank refusing to even get in the car for fear we will take her to hospital. What can I try and do at home for her? Should I try an old fashioned finger taped to the next one?

I’d ask the GP for a home visit and ask them to talk through the teddies again?

No idea sorry @sugarplumfairy28. How is she coping with the pain?

I can't believe I am actually writing this but after a few hours she decided she wanted to go to the hospital! I had explained what we did for our son, and luckily each step was the same for her. She has never been to a hospital, ever, and this has really taken us by surprise. Thankfully is was incredibly quiet and we were in and out within 2 hours. There is possibly a hairline fracture but no further treatment. Been told to ice it and take pain relief. We're still stuck on pain relief though, she did actually try a Nurofen cheweable, but spat it out, which again was a massive step for her. She is sticking with blue cool patches.

She did end up having the day off school the day after, it all just caught up with her, but I will take that, she took huge moon steps and I am beyond proud of her. Having to down play it all and not overwhelm her. Her finger is a wonderful rainbow of green and purple.

Woe that is amazing progress. I'm so pleased that it's just a hairline fracture Flowers
