Hi mamas
This post may be quite longer.
I hope you can take few minutes to read it.

I dont know even from where to start.
First I want to say sorry if i write something wrong as english is not my mother tong.

I'm a mom of two.
My little one who is 20 months now has Global Development Delay. Around 9 months of delay. He can not walk he can not speak (no mama no dada) nothing.. he doesn't like new people. Scared if there's lot of people around him. Scared of some sounds...
Apart of that he has glue ear.
The day of the hearing examination appointment he was crying a lot. There was a lot of sound around and two new persons. So was impossible to do the ear test they cancelled. They saw he has glue ear and told me that they want to wait until the child grows to see if he needs a procedure. They don't want to do anything now because they think is to small.
He is currently with a physiotherapist and occupational therapist. I go to hospital appointments regularly 2 days per week.
Also the health visitor is really involved.
Last time I saw the health visitor (last week) he was 9 months of delay. She said " we know is something else going on but he is to small to be diagnosed"....

There are two things about my son that I do not see as normal and I would like other mothers who feel identified to have a chat.

1.My baby has his tongue all day outside. Everytime I need to go to his regular appointments I ask about why he is with tongue out. The answer I got ALWAYS is he is to small to be diagnosed.
Around 1 month ago a random mom stoped me when I was walking to say to me your child is shocking. I said to her oh no worries he is fine he has a problem. Was so embarrassed for me and for her.

  1. My baby is crying all day long! When I say all day is all day.
And this been happening from when he turn 1y. So around for 7 months. I do not see this normal. I clean his nappy feed him with him some toys to play put him music... But nothing works! I can not be with him 24h as I do not have family here and my husband works from early to late... I spoke with Health visitor about this but I do not get any help. I also spoke with occupational therapist and she said may be his glue ear but they do not want to do any procedure! Is so stressful and so worry seeing him crying every day all day long..

Anybody feels familiar with what is happening to my child?
Any tips to calm him?
I feel so alone sometimes in this process..

Is Portage involved? And SALT?

Have you mentioned the tongue thrust to ENT?

For the dislike of certain sounds, have you tried ear defenders or noise cancelling headphones? Is the OT supporting sensory needs as well as DS’s other needs.

Is there a local SEN playgroup you could attend?
You could look at requesting an EHCNA.

Home Start may be able to support you. Also, social care assessments - a carer’s assessment for you and an assessment via the disabled children’s team for DS.

Wow a lot of information that I didn't know it.

So I been referred SALT but she decided that my kid needs to learn another things before he start speech therapy.
So now we go every week to a classes called "extra boost".
I didn't know it about SEN playground. I will definitely have a look.
We tried a lot of times stay and play/indor sofplays and he get terrified with lot of people around and sounds.
We also go everyweek to the OT to play in a quite room. She teach my kid to move his hand and look/follow objects. My kid doesn't know how to use his hand and do not follow/look objects. Also he has been diagnosed with extreme stranger anxiety which makes everything more difficult.
Home start is also involucred.

I will have a look all the other things you mentioned to do a self referral or speak with my HV.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the information you have given me! I really appreciate it💙
