Inattentive ADHD in pre-teen girl?

Hi all, my DD is 10 and just finishing year 5 in school. I've wondered for a while whether she has ADHD and/or ASD but unsure whether I'm overthinking it! She's always been in her own world and will become hyper focused to the point the house could burn down and she wouldn't notice. She's always on the go, moving, fidgeting, spinning, climbing etc and recently has begun chewing on certain toys. Doesn't like any restrictive clothes such as jeans. Has become increasingly sensitive to noise and often wears ear defenders for school. These help her to concentrate she says. She's been authorised by the SENCO for ear defenders and a fidget toy at school. She does really well at school so isn't being affected in terms of her learning but the teacher knows she can be very easily distracted and can lose focus easily unless of course it's something she's really interested in! I just wonder whether I should be doing any more at this stage? I think I'm overly conscious as I have 2 ASD nephews and also work with SEN children so am very aware of signs to look for etc. Had a chat with DD's teacher last week ahead of moving up a year and she agrees that there could be a sensory and/or processing issue but to just keep an eye for now as her education isn't being negatively impacted.
My DD has become more aware of herself recently and says things like it takes her a while to process things or she just likes the sensation of chewing a toy, she's completely accepting of this and isn't bothered in the slightest.

Not really sure what I'm asking but has anyone experienced similar with their daughter and what did you do?

Thanks in advance x

I think you should look at a referral for assessment for ASD &/or ADHD.

The school should also be providing more support, for a start they could offer movement breaks.

Thanks, that's what I wasn't sure about - whether her needs at the moment warrant a referral? I guess better to get the ball rolling before it becomes more of an issue? Hadn't thought of asking about movement breaks, will definitely ask about this in September when she moves class. There's a meet the teacher evening in the first week back so will mention it then.

I do think there is enough to warrant a referral. It is unwise to wait until you hit crisis point, especially with the long waiting lists.

I agree to get the ball rolling, as ime it’s at secondary school where the problems really start to make themselves felt!

Thanks. We're in an area which has a weird 3 tier system, so she is in middle school now and moves to high school in year 9. I think I'll have a meeting with her new teacher when she starts year 6 and go from there. I'd rather get things in motion now while everything's stable than wait until it's not!
