Dining chair with support

Hello all 👋

My wee boy is 7. Previously we had a Hauck high chair which was a copy of the tripp trapp however it was no longer sturdy enough so had to get rid. He is finding a normal dining chair tough though.

I asked him what would help and he said a chair like his one at school (a Fox Denton chair), when asked further it's the side support he's after I think.

He is hypermobile and autistic so dinner time can be tricky for various reasons.

I've asked OT who suggested a chair similar to Tripp Trapp but bigger, but have emailed back to ask if there's any side support options.

Does anyone have any ideas?!

Thank you!

Is it the Zoomi chair the OT has suggested? If so, you can get arm rests and thigh guides for it, so depending on exactly what side support DS needs it might be an option. Alternatively, you could look at the Pal classroom seat.

If the Fox Denton chair helps at school would it work at home too? Or is it not high enough? You could also look at the Heathfield chair or Brookfield chair. Although if the height is the problem, it may be for those too.

Hi @ThomasWasTortured thanks for the quick reply! It's the Breezi chair she's suggested. I'll have a wee google of those other ones too. Thank you

Have a look whether the Breezi has optional side/thigh support. It might, lots of these types of chairs have extra supports that can be added.

I have just had a quick google and the Breezi chair does have additional support that can be added including arm rests and thigh pads. It isn’t a solid side, but it might be enough. You can look at the options here.
