and I came across this
OH MY GOD!!!!!!
I was reading my ds's reports yesterday, and came across all the terms listed, such as 'has had limited oppurtunities of structured social interaction, needs to have 'good language models', etc. My other ds is being investigated for social communication issues. Lately I have become really concerned about the wordingon the reports. The original paediatrician's report did state that my ds does not have theory of mind or empathy.
But wow! feel quite violated now, to think that all the time I was trying to get help wth my ds's problems the reports contained terminology indicating 'red flags' for falsely induced illness!

No, Pipinjo, they can not say my English is not good. They have insinuated that my ds needs good verbal role models because he needs more simple language which he will apparently experience by being surrounded by lots of noisy screaming children in a nursery, apparently my language is too 'complex'.
My ds gets plenty of social interaction, apparently it is not 'structured' enough. Whatever that means. ]
At the same time my other ds with possible aspergers reportedly has very high verbal ability, compared with his peers.
I just think it is important to be aware of these things when going through diagnositic procedure. This is the list of so-called 'red flags'
''Delay in speech and language or motor development as a result of distress;
Development of feeding disorders as a result of unpleasant feeding interactions;
Dislike of close physical contact and cuddling because it recalls episodes of smothering;
Development of attachment disorders as a result of the mother-child relationship being over-controlled;
Low self-esteem as a result of not being able to understand why they have been abused in this way;
Having no or poor quality relationships with peers because their opportunities for social interactions are restricted;
Under-achievement at school because of frequent interruptions in attendance;
Development of abnormal attitudes to their own health (for example, the development of abnormal illness behaviour and even somatoform disorders) because of their abnormal experiences ...''
read this
I know parents who have been affected by these attitudes, including me...
