Moving to Surrey, Sussex, Cambridgeshire or South - Secondary Schools Academic Autistic Boy?

I’d appreciate any advice, I’m moving soon to the south of England from Ireland and am looking at academic or lots of opportunity based specialist SEN education rather than mainstream.

I think DS won’t do well in big classes and secondary. He doesn’t have behaviour issues but he does get anxious. He’s good at science and maths.

DS is 10 years old and is in an autism class here in Ireland. It is half-way between a ‘special school’ and mainstream, which is what DS needs. So I was looking at SEN provision that is not for learning disabilities or behaviour issues, but that has good support but also lots of opportunities like doing maths or music.

I am willing to relocate to whichever area has the best school, as me and DH can work from home. Looked at Cavendish, Gretton, More House, Kingshouse. Has anyone got any other suggestions of good schools? Not looking forward to the EHCP process I have to say!

You could also look at Wemms and Unsted Park.

If you are considering London then The Holmewood in Barnet is worth a look.

Not in the LAs you mentions, but since you said you can work from home I thought I would mention Breckenbrough (N. Yorks), Alderwasley Hall (Derbyshire), West Kirby (Wirral) and Swalcliffe Park (Oxfordshire).
