He only gets low rate care atm, and as he has gone downhill the last few months, feel he needs more care. he is spending a lot of time asleep, very shattered, being sick etc etc, and basically cant do as much as most people. he doesnt sleep well as is sick throughout the night, and also has to use the toilet regularly due to meds.

yes i would re-apply. Does he have a social wporker asigned to him from the hospital?

I don't have any experience of the system but I would say that it's worth reapplying if dh's condition has changed since last time. Good luck.

Reapply hon, horribl;e job but will be worth it if you are successful which sounds like you might be.

So sorry to hear he's gone downhill babes.

Reaply
When i applied recently then sent a letter back saying to get in touch with them if condition changed as this would affect the ammount of benifit i could get.
Sounds as if it would be worth your while xxxx
Sorry he,s gone downhill how tough it must be for you, you deserve to get it,good luck

Just re-read my post and realised I was still thinking of the blue-badge system. Doh!

Definitely re-apply.

Hi misdee, yes get in touch with them straight away......if you are not getting careers allowance apply for that too, you are entitled to them both if your Dh needs the higher rate, you have nothing to loose.... thinking of you both...

but i'm worried in case they take away his mobility part. oh this is so hard. we fought just to get what he has already (low rate care and high rate mobility) and it took 7months to get it, just dont want him to lose it now.

misdee, do you have their number? why not talk to someone on the phone and see what they say, I have a feeling that his high rate of care will not compromise his mobility. I am waiting for my sons 3rd birthday in july, so I can claim mobility for him, and he is on high rate for care at the mo....

dh says he'll think about it. but he had problems last time as they said he didnt fit criteria for any of it. dont really fancy going through the appeal process if they turn him down.
