Dd10 pda profile as part of her autism. Parenting her is incredibly hard. Is there anywhere I can get help/advice/courses on how to parent her? Bedtimes, mornings etc she just defies me constantly which I know is all the pda.

The PDA website it a good start, if you haven’t looked there.

The PDA society and Yvonne Newbold have helpful resources.

Has DD been assessed by SALT, OT, MH professionals? There are some good HCPs who have expertise in PDA.

Does she have an EHCP?

Have you had social care assessments?

@JustKeepBuilding nope! Diagnosed and just left to get on with it. I'm crying out for help and don't know where to turn. What will a social care assessment entail ?

You can apply for an EHCNA yourself. IPSEA have a model letter you can use.

In many areas you can self refer to SALT, OT, CAMHS. If you can’t in your area the GP or school can refer. If you apply for an EHCNA and the LA agree to assess all can also be part of the needs assessment without the need to sit on the normal waiting lists.

Social care assessments are a carer’s assessment for you and an assessment via the disabled children’s team for DD. It will look at DD’s needs and the support she requires and the same for you. You can request these yourself, on their website Contact have model letters you can use.
