ADHD assessment and school.

Hello.
So we have suspected ADHD and ODDin our son (8) for years now and due to other people's comments of 'boys will be boys' 'kids will be kids' etc. We put off speaking to professionals.
However, school raised concerns over his concentration etc. He was wearing ear defenders, putting off doing his written work, being asked to move seats repeatedly, being asked to sit next to the teacher during assembly due to him not paying attention, fighting in school. Etc. This gave me a nudge to raise my concerns with school.
I showed videos to the sen lady and she stated he seems to be sensory seeking, and he also has tics. She spoke to his teachers and they stated no concerns. Which took me by surprise.
Anyway, my question is, if school don't have any concerns, how likely is it that he will get an assessment? He does show the 'signs' out of our home, but only in places like family members, supermarket etc. He does show them in school but for some reason they're not picking it up.
Any advice welcome.
Thank you.

I would go back to the school and ask how they can have no concerns given your second paragraph.

DS is showing signs at school, the school either aren’t seeing them or are downplaying them, so I wouldn’t worry about being refused an assessment because DS isn’t showing signs in school as he is. Do you have evidence of the concerns they previously raised?

I have limited experience of this process as we are only at the beginning but our school are saying the same thing. I have had to point out explicitly what’s happening at school. It’s so frustrating
