URGENT help need primary admissions

I (22F) have a son (3M) who is starting school in September this year,

he is currently on the asd/adhd pathway and we only have one school in our catchment area which I do not want my son going to due to a bad reputation and lack of good sen support and awful ofsted report.

There are 2 schools left in my area in the same distance but obviously not in catchment for some unknown reason, both of these I like the look of one of which has outstanding sen and an outstanding ofsted report.

I myself have bipolar disorder and generalised anxiety disorder and due to my anxiety I cannot follow an unfamiliar route, I do not have family support and no friends as I had to move to a different county as I was fleeing domestic abuse,

The only school I can travel to without significant distress is my sons first choice due to it being beside tesco, the other 2 are in places I have never travelled to and would cause sever panic attacks which in result would affect my sons attendance and I don't want him seeing me in such a distressed state.

My question is, will the school take into account my mental health condition and needs (on the preference part of the form) and since his first choice is well known to have outstanding sen support available /sensory room ect I really want him to get a place as I have no doubt he would flourish in that setting as he is currently struggling in preschool due to lack of decent sen support.

Any advice appreciated!

Some school admission policies include an exceptional medical or social needs criteria, some of which consider parental needs. Does the school you want have this? Even if they do the threshold is high and you will need professional evidence only that school is suitable. If the school doesn’t have such a category your needs and DS’s SEN won’t be considered when allocating places.

Have you considered applying for an EHCP?

It is worth planning for if DS isn’t allocated your first choice school so that if the need arises you can practice travelling the unfamiliar route between the national offer day and September.
