I'm looking for a stroller for my 3 years old son with autism. I'm thinking of McLaren XLR, XT or arc. I'm not sure what's the difference between them. I need a stroller that is big enough for a tall toddler and will last him till his 5 years old at least. Can you please advice if any of them are any good/big enough. Any advice on different brands. I would appreciate any recomendation/suggestion.

I don’t know the differences between the models you mention, but if you think DS is going to continue to need the buggy for a few years yet I would look at a SN buggy so that it will last as DS grows.

Have a look at the Excel Elise, special tomato EIO, special tomato jogger, Maclaren major, Mobiquip XL. There are charities that can help fund them e.g. Caudwell children, Newlife, Boparan Trust, Florence Nightingale Aid in Sickness Trust.

The xt - will last until they are 5 easy. But you need 2 hands on both handles - that's the problem with maclarens . Fine to put in the car boot but not my favourite- tips too if too much shopping on the back. Brakes aren't great either - I nearly had a nasty accident with the brakes as they don't work.

Mountain buggy are SO strong - you can push them with one hand easy - Plus shopping - that was my best pram and I had about 8 prams over the years 😂😂😂

I've found bigger wheels (with slime in them so no punctures) are easier to push and one semi circle handle is the best as you can push with one hand .... not 2 individual handles if you get me

I wasn't even aware of the SN buggy. I will check them out. Thanks for your help :)

Wow 8 prams! You are an expert now :) I had only 3 so far.
I always put lots and lots of shopping in my pram. It's always surprises me how much I can actually fit in my basket.

The benefit of looking at a SN buggy now is that if DS does need it beyond age 5 he will still fit comfortably. Generally they are more sturdy than infant buggies, too.
