We are on waiting list of nhs to be seen.
meanwhile I feel exhausted and notice a few things becoming more obvious during half term break .

impatient :
including if raising hands to talk during class/ lessons . And if teacher let him wait for long time. He will just speak up and interrupt lessons.

every time the 2 mins waiting time before a zoom meeting starting will kill me . He can’t sit there happily before a zoom meeting to start. i need to pull something out to make him busy for that 2 mins !!
like a page of math or some drawing or art craft.
otherwise restless and sulking.

endless brain food :
i can’t do 12 hours study or games with him. So I tried my best in the morning with coffee . In the afternoon I buy some online lessons for him . But still he will get bored for even 30 mins me time if there is no chess or drawing or maths.
he can’t sit still reading books for a hour independently and give me some me time .

Towards 5pm or 6pm I became really short fused . And now end up buying some toys online desperately ….. or let him watch cartoon just to shut up him for peaceful 5-7pm before he fell in sleep (before got on my evening nerves as since 6am I got up it’s such a long day )

Sorry for rabbling .
it seems like his brain needs 24/7 interaction/ stimulation or he get bored : end up pester me or kick ball in kitchen .

I am researching online techniques to deal with this .
any tips welcome.

( PE teacher moaning he won’t follow instructions , always lots warnings in PE )

Could you make a box of things DS can do when he needs something to keep him occupied? Then he can choose something from there. Although it is likely he will still require input from you.

Scope offer mentoring for parents of DC who are undergoing the assessment process.

However, some of what you write is just typical child behaviour e.g. an NT 6y/o wouldn’t occupy themselves reading etc. independently for an hour.

Have you thought about counselling for you?
