We paid £100 for 7+ exam which is next month.
he is not diagnosed yet due to long nhs wait time. But Asperger tendency.

i do NOT wAnt to tell school he has this.
but then school wont understand why he wont use headphone .

this is 1 out of 6 schools we applied only use headphone and closest to home.

I wonder whether I can withdraw application to pass the fee £ to under another mum”s name —-I know of who defly will apply for 10+ later on .

If you withdraw I imagine you will lose the fee. I doubt you will be able to pass it on.

If you don’t tell the school they don’t have to make reasonable adjustments.

Have you checked whether the school require you to disclose SEN/suspected SEN? Many independent schools do. If they do and you lie and they later find out they may withdraw the place/ask DC to leave.

As I said, some do ask for parents to declare any suspected SEN. And, DC don’t need to be diagnosed to have SEN.

The school refused outright to use speaker than headphone .

Why don't you want to tell them?

cansu · 27/10/2022 09:50

They do not use aspergers as a diagnosis now. It is ASD.

If DS meets the Equality Act’s definition of disabled, which doesn’t require a diagnosis, the school have a obligation to make reasonable adjustments if you inform them of the disability. But if you don’t tell them they don’t.
