Dd3 is such a happy little girl and that's usually enough but some days when waiting for appointments and big assessments to come through I find it really hard. What do you lovley lot do when it all seems too much?

I tend to have a BIG glass of wine

Also if the children are at school I go and see a friend for a coffee and a chat.

you find it really hard because it is really hard.
alcohol works for me, or a nice hot bath, don't bother with the radox de-stress stuff cos it doesn't work

1.Either a good workout if I have the energy- I have the best workouts when Im having a bad day and its all getting to me.

  1. I live by the sea so a brisk walk esp when its really windy- blows all your worries away

I find I dont deal so much by talking to other people as they never know what to say and so desperately want to say the right thing that I end up just feeling more irrate!!!

Also wine....and chocolate!!!

ouryve · 21/01/2008 23:27

I'll nth the wine and chocolate. I have an emergency stash of Green & Black's and DH is not allowed to touch it!

I'm bad . For me, it's a fag in the garden when J is in bed.

Or a bath with a book.

twocutedarlings · 22/01/2008 00:13

LOL Givemesleep, that what ive just done .

I actually dont know how other cope with stress without a fag . God how bad does that sound.

When DD2 was a baby all she did was scream, i actually used strap her in the pram, sit her in the dinning room and wave to her through the kitchen window, while i puffed away .

A bit of energetic scrubbing if I'm all het up and can't go out! Followed by a nice bath or some chocolate! And if possible, the luxery of an early night if brain is switced off not fretting!

theheadgirl · 22/01/2008 11:18

I wish I coped by doing energetic cleaning, as my house sooo needs it! However, in reality I visit the lovely people on the cosmetic counters at Boots and buy expensive stuff. I have far too much but it gives me great pleasure

bigcar · 22/01/2008 13:28

Thats great, I normally just hit the chocolate but I'm now in need of losing some weight . Will definitely try some of your ideas though thanks!

All the things that de-stress me are unfortunately the same things that I can't do unless ds is at school! A proper swim, a ride on my bike, an hour or two pottering on the allotment are all great. Anything that gets me out of the house without involving a kids' playground will do it.
