Ds2 is still in nappies day and night .I should add he is 2 1/2. He is showing no signs of being ready to use the potty doesn't mind his nappy being wet or dirty sure he would sit in it all day.Any suggestions what I should put.

put he is in nappies day and night an dhas no sensation when he is passing either urine or faceas. he regualrly has to have a change of clothing because his continenece products has leaked and you have to get up in the night to change his bedclothes because his continenece prodicts have leaked

Yep, also, does he understand the concept of toileting? Does he talk about 'wee' and 'poo'?!! .

Add whether or not he gets nappy rash because you don't know whether he's wet. Mention any cream you need to put on, either a barrier cream to prevent rash or something to soothe it.

Also mention how difficult it is to change his nappy, eg getting him into position to be changed, dealing with a strapping 2.5yr-old trying to escape etc.

bet dla hate us

Also, is it easy to change his nappy? Takes forever with DD as doesn't stay still, wriggly etc etc

meea · 25/11/2004 12:05

THANKS EVERYONE You have thought of things I never would have.
He doesn't talk about wee and poo.
He gets nappy rash because he is always wet.
He leaks a lot as he gets the runs alot.
Changing his nappy is a nightmare as he has lower back pain which is being investigated at the moment. So he hates me lifting his bum to clean him and hates opening his legs.
Have to pin him down lots of tears from both of us.

I'm keeping an eye on these DLA threads for when it comes to claiming for ds2.

meea, say he is not 'cognitively' ready to be toilet trained, as well as not being ready physically. And emphasise how long it takes for each nappy change (eg: average child, five minutes max, your DS 10-15 minutes or more... And more nappy changes because he's older etc ). HTH
ps You are not GOING TO BELIEVE THIS MEEA but my computer was ill and I HAVE LOST YOUR ADDRESS AGAIN [BLUSH]
I HAVE PATIENTS TRUST FORM THINGY IN ENVELOPE TO SEND. CAT ME AGAIN (IF YOU CAN STAND IT)AND WILL SEND.
