Hi Trace2, it's great she's starting so young, DS2 was about 8 or so months when he started (back in July).

She put him on the floor and looked at what he was capable of. He was very stiff, particularly in the arms, so she tried to loosen them up a bit by doing basic stretches. I think she tried to see what he could do on his tummy (not much at the time).

Are you seeing a private physio, or is it an NHS one?

All the best, hopefully you will have a great physio who will in a short time have a really good understanding of your DD's issues, and can put together a good programme, and also see you and DD often.

Thats good news, I guess they are all different but ds2's initially assessed his head control/lag. Checked his reflexes (save reflexes etc) also range of movement & muscle tone.
It was all very slow & gentle to start with as ds2 wouldn't tolerate much but she was great & gave us exercises to do whilst playing with him.
I hope all goes well & you get a good one.

what they all said. Some physios just do stertches to mainatian rainge of motion, others actually give you some exercises that will help with function like head control or reaching.
We've just got back from Brainwave because we got fed up with the useless NHS physios. 1 hour a month! And thats for a severe immobile child with cerebral palsy.
