Well, I filled in the sodding form, andit gave me pain in my hands, and took me four days to complete.
I included reports from salt, paed, ot.
They turned me down.
So what do I do now?
Please someone tell me what to do!
I find all this so difficult to organise, I am so exhausted all the time! Ds stays up half the night shouting at the top of his voice. I can't think straight at the moment.
I gave lots of information on the dla form, and filledin extra sheets.
What is the next step for me?
TIA!

My asd son got turned down for DLA apparently he needed no more care than a normal 3 year old,and having worked with children for years i strongly disagreed with.I logged every phone call and copied everyletter.Bascially kicked off a huge fuss and got my MP on side and got it in the end!

DD was born without her left forearm and I originally applied as a matter of course but was turned down which was fair enough as she was just a baby. Now she is two and theres very little she cant do On a personal level I dont do much. Her clothes get ruined at twice the rate as everything gets tucked under arm and as she treats it as a hand we have to stitch up her clothing. Thats it really apart from a couple of balance issues on slides and bikes etc.

I was so shocked then when my friend asked me if I claimed and told me that her mum was currently getting "high rate" for a "frozen shoulder". She can still lift things but cant put her arm above her head (so she gets smelly armpits for a bit).

I think its probably luck of the draw but they make the forms so complicated most people dont bother reapplying.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

I know just what your feeling deeeja, my son is now 121/2 and we are now on our 4th DLA forms, he has DS. We were turned down twice when he was younger(won it both times on trubinal) and the last time he was only awarded it for 3 years ,so here we are again waiting for a reply .They have already told me they have written to his school asking for more info (you would think the 26 extra pages) i sent them was enough. I hate filling in the forms ,it took me two months this time as at 12 he is always up and about and i had to give them so much info . The second time when we went to trubinal we won BECAUSE they considered him a danger to him self and others if left alone , so he was awarded the upper rate for both. Dreadful to hear your beautiful child discribed like that.I still dont understand why a child born with a disability (that he wont every grow out of) isnt just given the measley amount. Sorry spelling bad ,long day. Keep working on them , find someone to help you , good luck..
