Hi, We’ve suspected for a while that my 6yo may have mild ADHD. Had parents evening and the teacher agreed and spoke about the measures they’ve put in place already (fidget toys, allowing her to stand to do work not forcing her to sit etc.). They are now going to do an Informal Concern form to ensure that throughout the rest of her schooling, teachers are aware this is not her being naughty, just how she operates. I’m happy with all this. I don’t think we need to consider options such as medication as we don’t have regular outbursts etc and are generally managing her well. I just wondered if it is worth getting a diagnosis, just for future incase we need further support, and therefore don’t need to wait even longer. Or should I just wait until there are problems. I’m not wanting any psychological support or expecting her to be assigned a care co-ordinator etc. Just a diagnosis. Has anyone found a diagnosis helpful, despite not needing intervention? Or has it caused more problems? Thanks
