My daughter (14 severe autism ,severe learning difficulties ,severe challenging behavior) she bit the escort this morning and scratched her when she tried to prevent my daughter from opening the Taxi door while they were on the motorway ,now could some one tell me if the use of child locks is law in SEN transport ,the use of child locks in this case would have meant no confrontation with my daughter should i approach them about it ?? and is my daughter the only one to have a pop at the escort every once in a while i feel awful about it

I don't have any experience or advice but will bump this up in case someone else can help.

do't know about the law but would think it was common sense.

Can't childlocks be 'turned on or off'? Ours can on the back doors - it's a switch inside the workings of the door, when you open them fully.. If its a black cab, the back doors are locked anyway, to stop fares from running off!

hiya
my daughter used to travel to school in a taxi, (now goes in a mimi bus) but the driver always put the saftey locks on before she got in...

Def worth speaking to your transport dept, your dd should be able to get to school safely and if she can open the doors that is not safe.

good luck
