He insisted the tree went up on Saturday. Even joined in decorating it (). He insists the tree lights go on each morning with a lot of shouting and gesticulating. And yesterday he made me hang up some paper chains that ds3 had made.

All firsts This time last year he didn't really even know what xmas was. Unfortunately I'm missing his xmas performance

Why are you missing his performance?

But for the rest!

macwoozy · 10/12/2007 14:32

Sounds like you've got a really excited boy there, how wonderful

Sorry to hear you'll be missing his xmas performance though

yurt1 · 10/12/2007 16:50

oh I'm missing the performance for a pre-planned day out with dh and xmas shopping (my Mum is doing all the after school stuff). She's going in my place.

8 years - and he finally understands xmas- really thought it would never happen.....

What fantastic news !!
I remember you posting last Christmas about how sad you felt that DS1 just didn't "get" Christmas!!

Blu · 11/12/2007 11:11

I love that boy too!

It's brilliant.

coppertop · 11/12/2007 11:15

Wow! That's amazing.

Graciefer · 11/12/2007 11:42

Ahhhh, thats lovely, I so love Xmas!

Just got back from the school Christmas Concert, it was absolutely lovely, my DS1 was a very convincing looking Santa.

Yurt, your DS1's performance on the big screen was fantastic, a true star! As I am sure your mum will tell you.

yurt1 · 11/12/2007 18:19

I cannot believe I missed his solo!!!!!! Apparently they are trying to get a video of it to us. My mum said that she was in tears (and his teacher too ).

Aww bet your ds1 was a sweetie..... (was there for farewell for JMG?)

Yes I saw your mum having a hug with your DS1

Head did mention JMG & J? leaving for the early years language unit, but JMG had already left the hall by then and there was no gifts or speechs or anything, I was surprised at that.

Although I think there may be some sort of Christmas meal thingy tomorrow, so perhaps they will do that there, unless that is only for parents of children in the unit, I don't know it was all a bit confusing, hehehe.

My DS1 was sat with JMG whilst watching the other classes, he has bonded so well with him over the past year, he is going to miss him loads.

I went in after to give both of them leaving cards and wish them well, but was told JMG had gone out to play with DS1, I had to chuckle!

yurt1 · 11/12/2007 18:55

Oh yes J as well. I like her. she was always paired with ds1 as she's an ex cross country runner

DS1 was apparently hoping for a ride in my Mum's car. I still can;'t believe I missed it. I've blubbed a) because of what he did and b) because I missed it.
