Laptop / word - anything better to avoid writing?

Hi,

So it’s been agreed my child doesn’t have to write and I can provide a laptop which is great 🤩

He’s in a mainstream school at the minute (if it makes any difference)

I’m just wondering is there anything easier than word? Or do they just get used to it? And learn to type ...

Thought I’d ask the wise people of mumsnet - rather than in 2 months realise that there is something far better 🤪🤪🤪

Thank you for any suggestions xxx

How old is he? My ds uses Clicker but I don’t know what age range it’s suitable for.

We use Onenote. Works more like an exercise book.

He’s 8. Thank you

My ds is 7 so Clicker may be a good fit. I haven’t seen it in action myself though.

Notable mention for Snaptype Pro for iPads - can photograph a worksheet and then type answers in on it.

DD used to use Clicker Docs - but now it's been incorporated into main Clicker which is a shame because it was decently priced on its own. Minimal "Miss I've clicked something and it's gone funny" factor to consider.

There's other types of assistive technology too, such as dragon or texthelp read and write. To help with SPAG global autocorrect or verity spell will help.
