in teh long run this is a good thing as it can only help me fight for him to move over to a SN school, BUT i am so upset.

every time we take a step forward we end up stumbling another 3 back.

im trying to be logical about it all and canm't i just keep blubbing like some deranged person.

That's crap. I take it he's statemented? Of course it's horrible in the short term, but it is a step towards your long term goal. Remember: they are the school/ LEA's responsibility after the 5th day! They must provide tutoring or in-school exclusion.

I know how you feel - it's hard being told schools can't cope, but keep your eye on the long term. xx

How poo for you and your DS mamazon! Our Head said this to me about my 9 year old DS (AS) about 6 months ago. Her words were 'I don't think there is a place at our school for your son any longer' B**CH!!!. He had been exluded several times prior to this. Fortunately the LEA didn't back her up. We got some emergency funding for 1:1, he now has a statement and is doing pretty well - although he is only in school for 3 hours aday at the moment.

One good bit of advice I got was don't, whatever you do, withdraw him. I felt I was under pressure at the time to withdraw DS in order to keep a premanent exclusion off his records. If you do this the LEA have no obligation to find him alternative education.
