PMSL at carer's allowance meeting the costs.

I've seen similar reports to these and often the biggest problem is ropey childcare making work so difficult.

Once I go back to work I cannot see how i can possibly do all the forms and things without crashing out, but if I dont eventually go back tow rok we'll not manage (student grant has kept heads above water but ends this year when I graduate, can struggle for a year or so but tehn I will ahve to wokr- DH going for a degree but he won't do the forms).

We're in the smae sit as Yurt with CA- I do every bit of chidcare for ds1, but because sometimes in the day when he's at school I got to uni it's a no-no.

we ahd to pull ds1 out from bibic so ds2 could attend- both would have been unmangeable and we reached the end of ds1's funding. HAted doing that but what can you do?

Was disgusted on Friday to find that my carers allowance was supposed to be counted as income for housing benefit. So not only do we now get £35 less a week, we owe the coucil £290!
They give it grudgingly in one hand and then snatch it back with the other!

They do- and its not just for a disabled hcild either, my friend until recently credfor her father (alzheimers) as the only capable family member (sister has schizophrenia, mother died years ago), and her CA was taken from her WTC as well. They ahd to buy a bigger house, her work was restricted (she's a Cm which isn't easy with an elderly relative on the rpemises) and he got to keep his DLA locked away in the bank (convinced himelf daughter was trying to kill him for it- paranoia not unusual in Alaheimers) and they got a measly £10 a week from the state after deductions. Wowee. he's now in a home, and she ahs to put up with sister sscreaming abuse down the phone at ehr all day for putting him there at all.And because dad contreibuted towards the family home because of wanting his own apve, SS are hovering and consulting solicitors to see if they can take it off them all for home fees (they can't but its additional stress)

Oh Peachy that infuriates me if there should be so much more support in the way of care for the elderly.
Whats the saying about a society is judged on how it treats its most vulnerable.
