Please keep your fingers crossed for her and hope it goes OK!! She has been on the waiting list for 2 and a half years now so I had almost given up hope but got a phone call out of the blue last week.

LOL..she has been practising a structured sentence all week now and telling everyone " I am going horse riding on Sunday." I was chuffed to bits when she came running into our room this morning saying "I am going horse riding.....TODAY!"

Must take my camera!!!

My son loved it when he did it for a while with school, then he changed class and wasnt able to go any more, he is now on the waiting list again so we are waiting.I am also looking into Driving for the Disabled for him too! My late father had a lot to do with our local branch and did tons of fundraising for them so it would be nice if my ds could join too!!

Thats wonderful. I wanted dd to do Riding for the Disabled but Avon Riding for the Disabled School no longer do children who cannot sit. In the olden days (2 years ago) they had two helpers who would support the child. Riding is fab for the hips, core strength and getting some idea of balance and movement with severely disabled kids. But helath and safety rules (so they say) wont allow it in case the disabled child falls on the helpers and crushes them to death.
I suggested they call themselves 'Riding for the no-so-disabled'
I'm still cross.

It was great!!! She loved it..well worth the wait I hope!

You can see a few piccies here

about the restrictions!! Amelia had one helper guiding the horse and two walking along side of her...so did all the other riders too from what I remember!

LOL...it was sooo funny this week. DD really put them through their paces and was soo cheeky. They were trying to get her to stand up in her saddle but she was too occupied by the helpers stripey hat, which she whipped from her head at one point.

Still thoroughly love it though!
